I am getting a new 150 Suzy and need some opinions on props.I have a Ranger 618VS 1440#S and my old motor was a 140 Suzy with a 14x20 SS from Suzuki.what do you think about these
3 blade 14.5 x 25
4 blade 14 3/8 x 23
4 blade 14 3/8 x 25
4 blade 15 x 22
4 blade 15 x 24

"I'm guessing 3 blade bett

"I'm guessing 3 blade better for top end, 4 blade better for hole shot. On the Ranger 18'? Should be to over propped with a 23 pitch. I don't actually have experience with 4 blade other than what I have looked at articles about them vs. 3 blade props. I have a 19'6" ProCraft, which I would guess is comparatively the same build up process. Both appear to be heavy boats for the size. I had a Suzi DT 150 with a 3 blade SS w/ a 24 pitch and I was over propped. I put a 19 pitch aluminum, but feel I could have gone with a 21 pitch and it would have been a bit faster without losing hole shot abilities. I go about 48mph on GPS with the 19 pitch. But hole shot is good. Speed isn't what I care about anyway. Just a good comfortable ride is all I care about. A way to get me there and back. In the case of the 24 SS prop I wasn't able to get full RPM's could only manage 4600, but with the 19 pitch, I 'm able to go up to 5000 - 5200. So as far as wear and tear on motor, I've been told that not being able to spin your top RPM's that the motor can give can actually hurt the motor if it is struggling to get those top RPM's."
