"Hi, I bought a 1954-55 12 HP Sea King GG 9016A. I've read where the 1955 MW Sea Kings were almost a copy of the Evinrude/Johnsons of that time. Were the 1954 the same engine as in 1955 for the 12 HP? The guy who I bought the motor from said he put a 15 HP carb from a Evinrude/Johnson which makes the engine a 15 HP because Gale put a dumb down carb in it to make it a 12 HP, so it wouldn't compete with the more expensive outboards. Is that true? Lastly, anyone have a repair manual for this motor? Thanks for the help!"
