"Looking for some advice guys- Getting my '97 4.3L GS ready for the lake this weekend and when I had it running, I noticed a steady water drip from the impeller pump (sea water pump). Is a steady drip a problem to be corrected right away, or can I let it go til it gets worse? If it needs to be handled asap, assuming no cracks in the housing or damage, is there a repair kit (gaskets?) I can use or do I replace the whole pump assembly?"

"I have some info for you. Mine is doing the same thing. The leak will not cause the engine to run hot, but if you are in salt water, it will be sprayed on the engine and cause rust. I am going to run mine in hopes that the gasket will loosen up and re-seal itself. I don't think it would hurt you to do the same. Those pumps are NOT cheap!! Hope this helps."
