Dave hard cold starting is usu

Dave hard cold starting is usually the choke system. A inherit problem on some of the older Zukis. 55/65/75/85/115/140 were all affected.

That darn choke won't stay closed when cranking the engine. It flutters when the engine is cranking over. If you remove the cowling and manualy hold the choke closed the engine will probably fire right off. If not than you could low or weak primary compression. ( Thats before the piston) If the choke trick works try adjusting the plunger that slides in to the solonoid. Don't forget to use loctite.

It's a weak solonoid along with poor geometry of the plunger. The factory offered a cure for this on the later model 115/140 engines they (Rubber mounted) the solonoid on the 115/140. This would allow the solonoid to move around a bit and the plunger would stay put. You could purchase those parts and upgrade yours if you don't already have it.

Ah the good old days LOL.
