I have a 1983 DT 85 I am using the tach that was on my boat for this motor I have it set at 6 pole and are using the 2 wires that the wiring diaghram says are for tach. These 2 wires are separate from other wires in my control box and when I hook up my tach at idle it works fine but as you give it gas the tach goes down instead of up so I reversed the wires and I get nothing what do you sugest I try next. thanks in advance for any help you can give.
