Wanted to know if there are any little known facts and instructions for swapping out a 1994 40 hp Force powerhead with another 1994 40 hp power head.

Hi William - should be no issue - the 1992-94 40 horse Force models we Merc creations built from older Merc parts.

Depending on "how much" you are swapping (complete or partial powerhead) they did run a different series of carbs but that looks to be simply because they ran out of the "first run" carbs since the block never changed.

Should be a straight forward direct swap..
