Ever since new (1986)
Ever since new (1986) the tachometer has given an incorrect reading. At something less than half throttle it will read about 4200 rpm. On opening the throttle slightly the reading will drop to 3500rpm. At full throttle it will read 5500rpm which is probably about right.
Any ideas on why the rev counter should behave in this way and how we can fix it?
