WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET THIS NICE MOTOR BACK ON TO THE WATER.. WHAT KIND OF BOAT IS COMMON FOR THIS TYPE OF ENGINE. ANY TIPS WOULD VERY HELPFUL."

I make TN 25 a 5hp 1950 or 51

I make TN 25 a 5hp 1950 or 51 model.

Get rid of that old gas for starters. Flush the tank and make some fresh. 20:1 mix using TCW-3 2 stroke outboard engine oil and regular grade gasoline.

Check the oil level in the gear box and top up if necessary.

The water pump impeller will certainly need changing

The carb may need cleaning. The coils could be bad.

Check the plugs and put a little 2 stroke oil in the cylinders (It is a twin?) and turn it over slowly to get the rings and bores lubricated.

Do a Google search for "Awakening a sleeping outboard" that should find you a useful article.

Suitable for a small boat. Might get a small RIB to plane with one person and a dog but not much more. You won't be towing a water skier.

Good luck with it and take care of it. You'll have the collectors drooling with envy. You'd get a good price for it I expect if you sell it.

PS uppercase is considered SHOUTING on forums.
