I think my 20+ year old Bomar cast(?) hatch is ready for replacement. The smoked plastic is all sun crazed, the white paint is peeling off the frame, and the screws retaining the now worn out latches are frozen due to corrosion.
Bomar used to be pretty well respected way back when. I cringed when I recently found the price of a new one; thinking about an extruded one now.
So, has anybody recently replaced or upgraded an existing hatch? Thoughts on a given brand? any other "lessons learned" worthh passing on?
