"hello,ive a 1980 ,25 hp ,blueband and im after changing the o ring on the shift shaft and the 2 seals on the drive shaft (below impeller ),it doesnt look too bad a job ,but do the 2 seals come out easy enough and what holds the shift shaft retainer in place ,,thanks piperdog

"You can look at the crowley marine web site for exploded views of the seals. A small oil slick is normal since oil/gas goes out the exhaust/prop. Check the condition of the oil in the lowerunit to see if its leaking, or have it pressure tested to find the leak. Happy New Year"
