"Hi All,I have two 1995 130 hp Yamaha outboards. In lower unit there is a small tube yamaha calls it a pilot tube.It is only on starboard engine.Dose anyone know what the purpose of this tube is? It appears to end pinched under transom bracket.Thanks James"

"Most likely the speedo line, they plug up and stop working, I've cut mine off so I don't have to worry about it when I do annual service on the pump, likely the one that is missing was cut off by someone as well."

"Rollie is correct, the "pitot" tube is where you would connect the little tube that goes to the spedometer - saves adding one to your transom and putting a couple extra screw holes in the boat


If you use a GPS for your spedometer, either plug it off or just forget about it. It won't affect the operation in anyway if you simply ignore that it is there..."
