Fuel line size matter

It's not a very good idea

It's not a very good idea because you would have to over tighten the hose for the hose to seal.
This could lead to the hose failing at the clamp and spray fuel out in the engine compartment / under the cover which ever the case.
That would be a very real fire hazard.
