" I have a 1995 Sea Ray dancer. The tach and sync signal somwetimes becomes erratic for one engine. That is, both tachs are about 3000 rpm when one starts to drift to about 3400 or 3500 rpm the the sync dial goes off scale. Normally both speed controls are almost side by side. When this happens, I have to give one of the engines more speed to bring in the sync dial. I know the tach signal comes from the neg side of the coil and a sensor in the distributor. I have spoken to teleflex, the tach and sync meter manufacturer and they say if both meters are erractic at this time, it most likely is not the meters. The next day, everything may be ok. I have had this problem on both port and stbd engines, though at different times. Any thoughts or ideas. Thank you for your time and attention.
