"I have a a 1991 70HP Mercury Outboard that will not start. My problems started when I used gas with Ethanol. I never had a problem with the motor before.
At first Ethanol clogged up my filters and made the motor hard to start. I solved some of the problems and was using the boat with some starting difficulties. Now I can't even get a spark out of it.
I'm a pretty good mechanic but this one has really got me. I replaced all the spark plugs, Switchbox Module, verified the Kill Switch, and verifed the ignition coils are not getting voltage. My next step will be the ignition switch but I feel as if I am wasting my time with that. Could it be the stator or timing trigger devices? Any suggestion or help will be appriciated."
