"Hello new to the board! My outboard is giving me problems and i dont know wats wrong with it. I put a carb kit in it,new coils and she still bogs at full throtle. Gear oil has been changed and pumps water. Thermastat looks like new tested it in boiling water and it opens Im stumped please help"

hI THERE i DID A COMPRESSION TEST TODAY ON MY MOTOR AND IT RED 100ON NO. 1 AND 120 ON NUMBER 2 IS THIS OKAY OR SHOULD I DO A DECARB?

There are alot of people that believe in de-carbon products. I'm not one of them.
Is it the top or bottom cylinder that is weak? If it's the top the engine may have at some point been run hot.
The correct thing to do is to remove the head and inspect the cylinder and piston for ware.

Yeah its the top Ive just purchased this motor and its giving me problems and the water spiting out of the engine is pretty warm after a few minutes. I did not ground the boots should I?Its a 1972?
