"I was having starting problems on my 1986 OMC 3.0L Sterndrive. Bought an "Ignitor" conversion kit - which was easy to install, until I tried to figure out where to install the wires from the Ignitor. It seems my coil has an external ballast resistor, and I need to wire the red wire NOT to the positive of the coil, but somewhere on the other side of the resistor. Can anyone provide guidance as to where to attach the red wire?"
