Need an approximate.

86 Bayliner Capri 21' with chevy 350 and 275 leg. Calkins 2 axle Escort trailer. All of the data is worn off from the trailer plate so I don't even have an empty trailer weight. Any guesses would be helpful. Thanks.

"Is there a road scale available in your area? You can weigh the trailer axles (both at the time), then the truck rear axle, then the truck front axle; then disconnect the trailer and weigh the two truck axles to find the truck's weight. The rest is arithmethic.

"Bayliner probably has the weight on file for all of their boats and Calkins should, too if they're still in business. A double axle trailer is usually close to 700 pounds."

"Thanks guys. I'm sure I could pull it through a truck stop scale, but it's not really that important. I was guessing around 700-800 for the trailer and about 3,000 for the boat. Calkins is gone and I have no idea where I'd find that info from Bayliner."

Call Bayliner- most boat companies have consumer contact numbers or you could contact them through their website.

"Chris, the advantage of weigh

"Chris, the advantage of weighing your boat and trailer is that you can reach interesting conclusions when the math does not add-up. As an example, I found that a 17' boat I had a few years ago was several hundred pounds overweight when I added-up the weight of engine, sterndrive, fluids, gear, equipment, etc and the manufacturer's declared weight of the boat and compared it with the scale readings. It turned out that a large portion of the foam under the deck was soaked with water.

For the above exercise, you can probably find the weight of the hull from Bayliner, and you can always weigh the trailer while the boat is in the water."

"It's really not quite that important. I was just wondering if it was heavier than the cargo trailer I pull M-F at work. I have not yet pulled the boat with this particular truck, and I was wondering which was hevier. I do know that my empty cargo trailer weighs 2,700lbs. I know that on average each kitchen cabinet weighs 80lbs. and I know I get 40-50 of them per load depending on size. This puts me at least 5,900lbs.which I would be shocked if the Boobliner weighed anywhere near. I'm pulling it to Lake Powell next weekend and it's a far drive, so I was just wondering how the truck should perform."

I just went to www/boattrader.

I just went to www/boattrader.com and did a NADA search. The cuddy version is 2590 lb net wt and the non-cuddy version is 2250 lb net wt.

What kind of cabinets- do you make them or buy them and install for the customer?

"Wow, that's awesome. I would have never known to go there.

We are a dealer for 3 different lines, we design them and the factories build and ship them. Then we deliver and install. We are in Phoenix, but the factories are in Dallas TX ,Portland OR, and Seattle WA."

That's rated for a 125hp engine. I'll be safe and add another 400lbs for my 225E and I'll assume the trailer is 800lbs. which may be a little over.
