I have a 1976 merc 120 the car

I have a 1976 merc 120 the carb (2bl roch) is sucking air from where the bottom butterfly shaft goes thru and where the chock plate goes thru. My question is it worth trying to rebuild it? Or is it just time for a new one?

TIA

Gary.
I'd think it depend

Gary.
I'd think it depends on what the rebuild will cost over the cost of a new one.
If you can find a good rebuilder that will rebuild your carb and sleeve the rods when it is rebuilt at a fair price this may just be the way to go. Foresure new is best but what will it cost and you almost need it from merc so you know it has the correct calibration for the engine.

"i dunno but if you get a new

"i dunno but if you get a new one, get a holley 2 bbl marine one. They are excellent and not too $ either."
