"Well, I just started in the middle, and worked my way out. I found that the back right cylinder piston looks like its been dragged behind a car, small gouges, and scratches everywhere on the top of the piston. I didn't find anything in the cylinder (the piston is down on that cylinder at the moment). The middle cylinder had a small nugget of mushed metal about 3 millimeters around in it. But the middle piston looks fine if a little carbon/crud coated. The engine has not been able to stay running long enough this year to burn out the deposits.
Here is what I really don't get.
How can a piston look like that, and there be no evidence on the cylinder cap or valves? There seems to be no scoring on the cylinder walls either.
If someone reads this, and has any ideas at all for me, I would be very grateful for your input."
