"I have an 89 omc 4.3 that is eating belts faster than i can replace them. After inspecting the pulleys i found rust in the belt grooves. Has anyone got any idea where i can get replacement pulleys for this engine or do i need to start checking parts yards. Thx, Ron"
 
I'm having the same proble

I'm having the same problem with the same engine. What belt numbers are you using? I'm having a hard time finding the right recommended belts.

"I will try and find my receipt for the belts to get you a number for them, i looked on the belts themselves and couldn,t make it out. I fixed my problem by taking off all the pulleys, (water pump,alternator,power steering and crankshaft) and used the wire side of a bench grinder and cleaned all of the rust out of the pulleys until they were smooth. I've put about 80 hours on the boat this summer and have had no more problems. I'll try and find you the belt numbers asap, Ron"
