I want to change my water pump

I want to change my water pump on my 1974 ER but I can't get the lower unit off..The motor has been in salt water...I removed ALL the bolts and the shift connector. Yes I removed the bolt under the trim tab too...Any tricks in getting it loose ???}

"I'm no expert but here&#3

"I'm no expert but here's what I'd do if it were mine. I'd take a rubber mallet and sort of "peck" at it until it came loose. Probably stuck with corrosion. This is if you are sure all the bolts are out. I count 6 bolts, but remember the part where I'm no expert. Don't knock the h-e double toothpicks out of it, just patiently peck. One thing is sure, if I'm way out in left field somone will appear to say so!"

"The only issue that I am awar

"The only issue that I am aware of is sometimes the driveshaft will rust up inside the crank. Other than tapping downward on the lower, using a block of wood to protect the casting, I don't know what else to suggest. I have never had the problem."
