2002 f115 four stroke PTT

Haven't used boat in 3 mon

Haven't used boat in 3 months. Engine is in locked up position. Tried to cycle the engine up to release lock and nothing happened. PTT motor sounds like it is working but no movement with engine. Battery is fully charged. Any suggestions on the problem???

"Thanks. I did just that, then tilted the motor down and back up and locked it. I then tried the PTT after 30 minutes and it worked. Sounds like it is captivating so will try to add fluid. Is it Dextron II that I use???"

"Stephan, I've had a ptt on a 9.9 go south and have been told by my mechanic that he has since seen a few with the same problem. A small wire mesh screen that a valve sits on, inside the unit...tears. This prevents the valve from operating 100%. He used a lighted magnifying glass to spot the problem. Mine was the first he saw with the problem...lucky me...but he knew exactly where to look on the next one. Rollie"
