I've recently bought a boat with a 40HP Mercury. I'm looking to pick up a service manual, but I need to know what year it might be so I can buy the correct one. Please take a look at the pics here:

"Merc began producing that particular model in 1989. During it's production, that particular model didn't change from one year to the next.

If you are after a factory service manual from Mercury, the (part) number is 90-814676R1."
