"I just bought a 1996 30hp Mer

"I just bought a 1996 30hp Mercury tiller unit. At the dealer, they had a hard time getting this motor started before I bought it. I asked him about a choke, but he said it didn't have one. After he got it running, it ran perfect and started very good after warmed up. Is there any choke or enrichment on this unit? Is there any good info on this motor on the net? Thanks guys!"
 
True it doesn't have the t

True it doesn't have the traditional choke system but it does have an enrichner to help start a cold engine. I'm not sure how its activated on yours.

"It should nave a primer nob and primer bowl, look on the right side of the carb and see if you dont have a little blue plastic rod sticking up and a flat leaver above it When you pull the round nob out it pushes the blue rod down to prime TO START >Turn black nob on ft of motor cc to the right and pull out.(2) crank engine(3) once running PUSH BACK IN.........When warmed up turn nob back cc to the left"
