HI I HAVE AN OLDER 18HP EVINRU

HI I HAVE AN OLDER 18HP EVINRUDE THAT RUNS LIKE A TOP. I RECENTLY MOVED TO THE COAST AND WON'T TO RUN THE SALT WATER. HOW CAN I RIG UP A FLUSHING SYSTEM I WAS THINKING OF GOING TREW THE MID SECTION BUT NOT SURE IF THERE IS A BETTER WAY OR A WRITE WAY?
THANK YOU DAN

"ive got an old '64 evinru

"ive got an old '64 evinrude 18hp on one of my lil aluminum boats ,although im not in salt water, when i need to work on it i get a 5 gallon bucket and keep the water hose turned on so i can replenish whatever water the exhaust push out. my trailer sits a little high so i just slide the bucket up as far as it will go and put a cement block under it to make sure the water intake stays under water..........and a 5 gallon bucket saves a lot of wasted water compared to a barrel or trash can"

THANKS DAVE THE FEW TIMES I HA

THANKS DAVE THE FEW TIMES I HAVE TAKEN IT OUT THATS WHAT I DID BUT I LIVE ON THE WATER AND THE BOAT IS ON A LIFT I NEED TO FIGURE OUT A WAY I CAN HOOK UP A HOSE TO FLUSH IT. TO MUTCH WORKTO PULL THE MOTOR AND RUN IT ON A BARREL EVERY DAY BESIDES I'M TO DAMM OLD.
THANKS DAN

"i know cabelas makes a "s

"i know cabelas makes a "small engine flusher" thats the only place ive seen one, but i dont know what models it fits-supposedly the ones with the water intake on the anti-ventilation plate, i think-..................................but reaching that far from inside the boat would still be a problem.

ive learned that a lot of people on here are quite inventive....maybe somebody has a helpfull idea"

THANKS DAVE I DIDN'T THINK

THANKS DAVE I DIDN'T THINK THEY MADE A FLUSH FOR THE ANTI VETILATION PLATE I'LL CHECK THAT OUT. AND YES I CAN REACH THE PROP FROM INSIDE THE BOAT I'M NOT THAT DAMM OLD(HA HA)
