"I have a Ted Williams 5.5 hp

"I have a Ted Williams 5.5 hp outboard with the #'s 64 31A , 217 59431 and ser. # 204 775.

Also a Buccaneer ( I believe a 5 hp) with mod# 5D11B ser.# 568326.
I'm looking for any info on both of these motors. Year and where to find parts. The Ted Williams was my Grandpa's and he passed in 1977. I don't believe it has been run since then. The Buccaneer My dad bought for my brothers and myself back in the late 60's I believe.
Thanks, Greg"

"The Gamefisher is a 1972, mad

"The Gamefisher is a 1972, made by Eska, sold by Sears, and has a Tecumseh air cooled powerhead. Some parts are still available at www3.sears.com. A shortcut to your specific motor is http://tinyurl.com/6gumtc
other parts are available at http://www.certifiedpartscorp.com. The lower unit is cooled by an impeller (to cool exhaust). The service manual calls for 24:1 Fuel/Oil. The service manual states to use TC-W oil in their newer (1974 and later) Air-cooled outboards (I don't know why), but I'd probably use air-cooled chainsaw type oil in that one. You can find a bit more information at http://home.earthlink.net/~brixent/Model21758890-59900.htm
The Buccaneer is a 1955 5 Horsepower. 16:1 fuel/oil mixture with TCW-3 oil. J6C (replaced original J6-J) spark plug gapped at .030. It was made by the Gale division of OMC (Johnson/Evinrude) and shares many parts with them."

"Thanks Wayne,
All that info

"Thanks Wayne,
All that info will be a great help. I know that I will need a carb kit and a new diaphram. I really would like to get both motors running again since they have sentimental value to me. Dad bought the Buccaneer when I was about 10 - 11 years old along with a 12' aluminium boat. The boat was stolen from my son's backyard this summer so I will have to find a new boat. That thing would really zip along with that 5 hp Buccaneer on it. I need to replace the recoil spring on that motor.
Thanks again
Greg"

"Hi guys, hope you can help. I

"Hi guys, hope you can help. I have a 7.5 ted williams that floods. I have adjusted float and put all new gaskets the only thing I notice is a red rubber tube. should it have a slit in it or should it be an enclosed tube. Thanks"

"The red rubber tube is a fuel

"The red rubber tube is a fuel pump element. It should have a slit in it as far as its appearance when you are looking at it when inserted into the carburetor, but should not have any holes or slits in it otherwise. It should also be installed in about a 45 degree angle. Have one of the narrow sides of the element pointing just about towards the center of the throat. If the float is working properly, make sure that the inlet needle seats correctly or it will still flood."
