"I have a new 9.8 that I run regularly, and has been running good. I have noted that the top spark plug gets a lot dirtier than the bottom plug. Last time out I pulled the plug mid way thru the day and cleaned the plugs. It made a huge difference. Do these plugs need to be cleaned after each use?

What about running a hotter plug? I just went over the 10 hour break in and am about to change the oil and filter. Thanks for your advice."

Nope, average person gets 100 plus hous per set.

You would be better off to have a dealer find out what the problem is and correct it rather than putting a hole in your piston with a hotter plug."

Turning the engine so that the engine oil in the crankcase got into the combustion chamber.

Over filling the crankcase.

Bad spark plug or improperly gapped spark plug.

Weak spark on that cylinder.
