It's a 2004 Mercury FourStroke EFI 60hp.
A few weeks ago, while operating the motor, it suddenly started to not run as well. About the same time, three short beeps came from the throttle control. The motor continued to run poorly.
Since then, whenever I turn the key half way (to start it), the three beeps come again. Even though the motor is not on or hasn't been on in a week. On the water, the motor still doesn't run as well.
This also happened to me back in the spring. I disconnected some wires and replugged them in. Cleaned the fuel filter. Maybe a couple other things, can't remember. Then it was fine. Not sure what the solution was.
Any tips on what the three beeps could signal? The motor does not have to be on or warm for them to come on when turning the key.
