I just purchased a 9' hydr

I just purchased a 9' hydroplane. I am looking at a 20HP 70s vintage Merc with a tiller bar short shaft motor. what does it take to convert this to hook up to the cable system?can you take the tiller off and run cables to shift and throttle? where do I get the parts?

"You would require a "remote attaching kit" which does require the replacement of some parts in the linkage.

If it is a late 70's vintage the kit may still be available from Merc, otherwise you may have to scrounge at a recycler or find a source for "old new stock"...."
