"hi, newbie here, found it by chance and learnt a lot of the past few weeks just reading threads,

any way my problem is that the VRO unit started playing up, so due to the cost i have decided to go the premix route, have disconnected the VRO etc and now ran the engine up using a strong 50:1 mix. my question is, what is the correct oil:fuel ratio i should be using ?, is 50:1 to strong or should it be a 100:1 mix like my auxillary 5hp. Many thanks in advance"

"The mixture must be a 50/1 mixture, one pint of TCW-III 50/1 oil to 6 gallons of gasoline. A octane rating of 87 will be fine.

And I strongly suggest, if you're actually using a 100/1 mixture in a OMC manufactured outboard, that you change to the 50/1 mixture there also. The 100/1 mixture was a goof of OMC and is no longer recommended."
