"Hi, don't know if anyone will be able to help, but i have a Super Saber boat and i want to change the steering wheel as it is cracking,but can't seem to get it off. There seems to be a key instead of splines is there any trick to get the thing off?

Sometimes it will pop if you p

Sometimes it will pop if you pound on it open handed. (rock it loose) (It works on engine generator rotors with a block of wood)
 
Thanks guys got it off took tw

Thanks guys got it off took two of us one pulling on the wheel while i hit the centre bolt with a four pound hammer
