"I purchased a boat with the motor removed. The motor is a 1976 85 hp Merc. I put the motor back on the boat, but I think the throttle linkage needs to be adjusted. The motor starts and runs great, but it doesn't develop the rpms that it should.Top speed is about 23mph. The throttle control moves forward quite a bit before it starts to excelerate. The last third of travel on the throttle doesn't seem to do anything.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
