"WOULD LIKE SOME ADVISE ON HOW TO CHANGE MY INLINE 6 FOR ANOTHER, I HAVE A 1974 19.6 SLICK CRAFT WITH A INLINE 6 CYL. CHEVY, & A OMC STINGER OUTDRIVE, DO I NEED TO TAKE THE OUTDRIVE OFF ? LOOKS LIKE I DO NOT SURE, ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT THANKS, JACK"

"You have one of the only drive systems where you actually don't need to remove the drive. If you can access all the flywheel hsg. bolts and the little tin plate under the bottom 1/3 of the flywheel, you can just pull the motor.

On my boat, I removed the drive and transom boot. Then I pulled the engine and intermediate hsg together as a unit. I just find it easier that way."

"hey thanks for your info. but are you saying it`s easier to remove the outdrive & the rubber boot ? do you mean its easier to get at the flywheel bolts? also is there a special seal to replace the rubber boot? this is my first one on a boat & want to take it on, so aon info is great, thanks jaxx"
