i got a boat with a 50d on it

i got a boat with a 50d on it it and it tends to go the right can i use the little trim tab to correct this issue

which way do i twist it i read

which way do i twist it i read you turn it in the direction of the veer but that seems backwards i would think you would twist the opposite way
