I am trying to remove the lowe

I am trying to remove the lower stern drive. I have went through all steps in the manual and still have had no luck. Can not seem to get it to turn the 90 degree angle to remove. Please help. How would I remove this thing? We have been trying to get it off for weeks now.

"which manual do you have? To remove a 1976 drive you simply unhook the wiring and pull it through the intermediate, then take the water directors off - then the 4 trunnion bolts and it's off. To separate the 2 halves, you just take the cap off the exhaust housing and lift the upper out. No 90 degrees in any process I can think of. "
