Took your advice on changing t

Took your advice on changing the the water pump due to the tail-tale not peeing.Took the boat out and it is peeing but it is still running hotter than normal. Also changed both thermostats. Any advice?

"When you say "hotter than normal" - hotter than it previously did?

Do you have a temp gauge - 140-160 would be "normal"

Running hot at idle? mid range speeds? or wide open?

With the new impeller/thermostats your idle temps should be fine - if not would suspect build up/crud in the waterjackets or a seal leak somewhere between the water cover and head (either end of the water tube) - alternately you could have a slight blockage in the watertube from the old impeller. If the problem is the latter often times it can be cleared with some compressed air.

If heat issue is when above 1500 rpms, could be a bad poppet."
