"My friend has a boat with a Tohatsu 2-stroke engine, 25HP, I think. We had fuel supply problems yesterday. Fuel is pumping through the lines when hand pumped but the diaphragm / valve assembly was not pumping when the engine was turned over. We removed the diaphragm / valve assembly and stripped it down, everything appeared to be in order. There is a hole from the engine which I presume supplies the pumpimng action to the diaphragm / valve assembly. When a finger was pushed over this hole and the engine turned over by hand there was no noticeable change in pressure. I presume this is the source of the problem. Any ideas on repairs?"
