I've been trying to get th

I've been trying to get the optimum idling speed on my 1999 Tohatsu 8 HP 2-stroke. I've got the Clymer shop manual (which is not perfect as far as I can see - omissions and errors etc). The carb has a pilot screw but my manual has no info on this at all. I've set it to 1.5 turns out then adjusted the idle stop screw. Anyone know any more? TIA.

Experience at this point....Start at 1 3/4 though. Carb adjustments are an art rather than a by the book setting. You have to listen to how the engine sounds as you adjust.
