have noticed a pool of oil behind boat. on closer investigation see that it is coming out of the top exsurst vent. when looking in oil fill cap noticed that the oil is creamy and white but is not on dipstick. any ideas on the course and how to fix it?

"What engine are we talkin about here? The milky appearence may just be condensation but keep a close eye on the oil level and condition. Give us some more info, how old, when you noticed the oil slick etc and we'll see what we can do."

oil level good. condition of oil still clear on dip stick, but milky at the fill cap. so maybe the water in oil is going up to the highest point when oil gets hot. appears to be a bit of oil coming out of the breather pipe (over flow?) from engine. Is this normal?
when i say top exsurst i mean the one just above the waterline."

Ur discription is still a litt

Ur discription is still a little vague can up upload some photos pointing to where the oil is comming from breather and exhaust. As far as the milky oil it may be condensation (this will happen in cold climates) but take ur spark plugs out make sure there is no water (rusty appearance) and test compression to be on the safe side. If the oil level rises it means water is getting into the sump so we need to make sure that the level stays where it should be. Make sure the oil level is not overfull as this may contribute to oil pumping out. Does ur engine smoke when running?

"Check that your thermostat is

"Check that your thermostat is working, have found with these engineswill run too cold at lower speed if thermostat is not working correctly, causing condensation"
