Random engine knock about 3200 rpm

here's a additional issue

here's a additional issue im having.
My starboard motor has this random knocking sound comming from the block only when i run above 3200 rpm.
The mechanic listen to it and thinks it might be carburation issues. He didn't feel it was a mechanical thing
Any ideas?
should i get a different mechanic?
