"Hey you guys.
Anybody out there that can tell me the best way to clean out an onboard fuel tank. It seem like it's loaded with water from the humidity, rain and what ever is in the service station tanks. It's been very hot, humid and damp this season.
My plan is to remove the tank this fall so that I can clean and reline it or should I just replace it with a 12 gallon plastic for about $200.00. The 115 inline 6 works fine for the first 4/5th of the tank then I shut her down so that I don't do any damage to the motor.

Thanx The Slammmer"

"water is heavier than fuel, it would be the first thing sucked into the fuel system. If you can remove it, after draining flush it out with air. Alcohol would absorb any water for a final rinse if you wish. Todays gas goes bad in weeks not months like the good old days. If you let it sit be sure to treat it with a good stabilizer."
