"I just rebuilt my 50 hp merc and can,t get it to start. I had a bad piston replaced it and installed new rings and some other misc parts. It has good compression. It sputters like it wants to start. It has good spark at the plugs. I tried to time it but didn,t help. Carbs were good when I disasembled it. Tried starting fluid. It does seem like the plugs have an oil on them. I used 2 stroke oil to coat parts per the manual. Any help would be appriciated.
