"Hello I have twin 2006 Volvo Penta D4 Diesels that will occassionally get an alarm and then kill during shift. The code says it's a shift actuator fault (which does seem obvious). The dealer sent me new shift actuators, because the boat is in Mexico. Then everything worked fine, for a while. After 200 more hours it's doing it again. I removed the cables and they seem OK. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for any help."

Shift actuators are a known issue. In my opinion I think it is internal components not being sufficently strong enough. i have seen more and more of these units failing. Just keep claiming under warranty for new ones.

Have a problem with my D-225 stalling. On another forum a fix was made by replacing the helm computer. My boat is at the dealer now so hope this is the fix that is needed.
