"mariner 5 hp air cooled loses power in water but runs when choke on cleaned carby , plug .any idears also has any one heard of up market rectifier for 68 red band 100 hp as mine has blown"

"I have a Mariner Five. oa889284 #394, Can anyone tell me what year it is and what the fuel mix is. I've been pulling my arm off trying to start it. It will fire if I spray fuel or starting fluid in the carb but then dies out. I also pulled the carb and cleaned it with carb cleaner. PLEASE HELP."
