Recommended engine size for a Dory13

This might sound like a stupid

This might sound like a stupid question but I would like to know what size outboard motor you would recommend for a Dory 13 boat - it's a bit like a boston whaler but not so big. Don't want to go super fast just want to chug up and down rivers and do a bit of fishing. Would a 5 or 6HP be good enough?
Any information will be gratefully accepted

"i have two allum and one fiberglasss boats, my smallest is merc 9.8 on a 13.5' it rolls on about 8mph loaded. does it have a specs. plate(max load, max hp, etc...)? if so i would get as close to the max if you fish the same type of river i fish, with extra wetght, gear, gas, motor,etc... you dont want to get be stuck at the house because of too much current on a prime fishing day! but if you already have a a 5 or 6hp throw it on there and try it out(under safe conditions). good luck!"
