"I recently purchased a gray marine six cylinder model 120 with a gear reduction box attached posterior to the trans. This addtional equipment results in the engine/trans being to long. i.e. the reduction gear box overlaps the shaft log by approx. 4". Is removing the reduction gear box an option? It would decrease the overall length by 8".
