just read the link and sync pr

just read the link and sync procedure for my motor (1990 Rude 175 XP) as it needs a new stator and powerpack installed and i think it's over my head. i can install the parts ok and put it all back together but i feel the link and sync may be a little too much.

any info would be helpful. thanks

I can think of no linkages you would encounter in simply installing those two components."

"joe, i thought i had read somewhere that if you replace the powerpack that the timing may be off and a link/sync was recommended.

it seems as you suggest though that replacing the stator, reg/rec, and powerpack shouldn't change a thing but i just want to be sure.
