"do those after market skeg guards really make any difference? mines a little bent and a big chunk is gone. one of my buds told me i could turn that little fin thing to help on the small steering torque but he wasnt sure about buying a bolt on skeg guard.appreciate any advice,and thank you all for the advice already given its helped a lot. GREAT SITE AND GREAT ADVICE!!!"

"yes,...there are 2 types that i am aware of,...an aluminum,weld-on replacement,..and a stainless steel 'skeg-guard'...the skegard bolts on...i would def repl w/one of them."
 
should i try to heat and strai

should i try to heat and straighten it first or not risk breaking it anymore? bout 1.5" out of align at bottom. if leave the same i turn the fin thing behind prop opposit the bend to counter flow right? thanks again

"dont heat,..cut off the bad area,...usually,a slight tapping could straighten,but,..alot of times,u just end up cracking the dang thing..
if boat pulls to righ,move back of trim tab,to right."
