Let see if I can explain my situation. There is power on the clutches. With the engine running and put in forward or reverse the prop will not turn. Boat goes no where. Had to have boat towed in. Checked the cone and the prop. The cone does not spin independently. Why want the boat go forward or reverse?

"maybe you blew a fuse or have a corroded wire or connection somewhere, or maybe you have a failed w/p shaft (upper to lower driveshaft). Is the engine overheating if you leave it idling?"

Fuse or corroded wire? There is power to the the clutches what would the fuse control or what other wiring? The only wire is to the cluthes from the remote shifter. If the shaft was broken would it make noise?
