I purchased a used pontoon with the above mentioned motor. It idles great in neutral, but when I put it in gear in the lowest rpm position (forward or reverse) it will stall. If I put it in gear and move it a little past the run-idle position, it runs great. I tried increasing the idle slightly, but then it runs to high in neutral and "clunks" into gear, which I am sure is bad for the gears.
Any ideas? A person on the lake suggested a Mercury treatment kit. I already put fresh gas in, and put in some Gum-Out.
